Sayaka, Ann and Nate to compete for spots on the 2008 Olympic Team!

The Olympic Trials for Judo and Wrestling will be held this weekend June 13-15 in Las Vegas, NV. EBJI will be sending three Olympic hopefuls to vie for a spot on the 2008 Olympic Team at the Olympic Games which will be held in August in Beijing, China.

#3 ranked Nate Torra will be competing on June 13 in the men’s -66kg division.

#1 ranked Sayaka Matsumoto will be competing on June 13 in the women’s -48kg division.

#3 ranked Ann Shiraishi will also be competing on June 14 in the women’s -48 kg division.

Other athletes of interest to the EBJI community are fellow Daiheigen Yudanshakai members:

#2 ranked Michael Eldred of Western Idaho Judo Institute who will be fighting in the men’s -73kg division

#5 ranked Jacob Larsen of Redwood Coast Judo Club who will be fighting in the men’s -90kg division.
